It is hard to believe that we left for Thailand a week ago. It has been a lot of fun to begin to learn about the culture and meet students. I think we are finally getting adjusted to the food and beginning to figure out what to order at the cafeteria. We spend most mornings at the church having training and then go to campus for lunch. After lunch we usually return to our apartment until early afternoon when we leave for some type of event with students.
Mike is doing great driving on the wrong side of the road on the wrong side of the car! It has been really funny though because Avery sits in the back and says Careful Daddy. She repeats it over and over again so she must know that it is very different.
Avery has been doing really well also. One of our biggest prayers coming over here was that she would feel safe around the people and be ok with them talking to her. She has done great! She waves to everyone she sees and has made quite a few new friends. Everyone is very taken by her because she has blonde hair and blue eyes. She has been a great conversation starter!
Avery at the Airport after 23 very long hours : )
This is our apartment complex.
Our tiny kitchen. There is one thing about it; I don't have to do much cooking!
A thai bath. They don't have bath tubs here so we are making the most out of our rubbermaid!
There is more to come soon! This was just a little taste. We haven't been doing great about taking pictures but I am on a mission now to begin to take some. Once again thank you all for praying. We are convinced of God's promise that "The Prayer of a Righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16 We have truly experienced the power of your prayers this week!

It is WONDERFUL to see your updates!! We are so glad that you are safe and doing well. I was thinking about you guys as we were driving around today, wondering what it is like there and stuff! I love the pics of your apartment. It looks really nice--better than I imagined!! Looking forward to reading more updates. Love you.
I know that Mike likes to take a bath...I was just wondering...did you bring a tupperware big enough for him???
;)
So glad that you all are adjusting!
Love reading your updates! Keep 'em coming!
Love you!
We are so glad to be able to "see" Avery and the pictures of your new surroundings.
Hope you're finding ways to stay cool. We are having record here here at "home" with it hovering around 100 degrees in South Carolina today. We are grateful for AC.
We think of you daily and in our worship this morning, you all specifically came to mind as we sang the chorus to this song:
"And take to the world this love, this hope and faith.
Take to the world this rare, relentless grace.
And like the Three in One, know that you must become what you want to save.
'Cause that's still the way He takes to the world.
Let us know how you are doing...and what you all are eating!!!!
Praying for your safe keeping, energy for your full days, and for changed hearts for all.
Hugs to Avery.
We love you.
